The main activity of the Company is ship management; time chartering and competitive brokerage.

Solchart focuses on shipping timber from Scandinavia to the Mediterranean, especially Algeria, Tunisia and Egypt, where are acting in very close relationship with biggest timber traders and exporters in Scandinavia such as Mssrs ‘RETs Timber, Helsinki’; ’PK Chartering’; ‘Finforest, Finland’; ‘Interasco, Finland’; ‘Interwood, Geneva’ etc. Also, we cooperate with number of major Russian timber exporters.
On the way back, the vessels carry trading goods for the European and Scandinavian market. The company evaluates all timber and other goods in painstaking detail to fully exploit capacity and to ensure that ships can depart without any delay. It further keeps voyages to an absolute minimum and provides detailed stowage plans to increase the speed of loading and discharging.

Annually shipping is over 700.000 cubic meters of sawntimber to Mediterranean countries and over 700.000 metric tones of bulk commodities world wide.

Presently we are expanding employment of our fleet and sharing cargoes for entire spectrum of the cross Atlantic freight market.

This system traffic demands a high level of skilful organization and professionalism - both ashore and on board and Solchart team has managed to substantially decrease the running costs of each chartered vessel by optimizing bunkering operations, giving preference to long-term ship rentals and entering into special agreements with ports to cut down on port expenses. Once a vessel has returned to its home port, the company carries out detailed analyses to further improve performance. Last but not least, state-of-the-art accounting and cash flow software records all financial positions and further contributes to optimizing business operations.

The company’s policy of purchase and building a large number of sister vessels in series has resulted in the availability of many vessels of the same size. This creates utmost flexibility whilst also providing reliable and punctual service to customers with whom a long term partnership is the ultimate ambition.
